Recommended Transmission Oil Change?

When should the trany oil be changed? My truck has 30,000 miles on it.

I dropped my pan, cleaned it out, threw in a new filter and topped it off at 30,000.

I always changed the fluid and filter around 30ish, and depending on what and if you pull, prevent is the best. It's your truck and money, how long you going to keep it?. If you take care of it now and sell or trade it latter, the new owner will thank you. Try and use Amsoil or something like it.

Its not a bad idea to do it now. Use Dexron V1. Thats GMs latest fluid and is pretty good stuff. Too often is much better than not enough.

Your due to change it right about now! many diesel guys with the allisons go 25k then change. If they use Amsoil or something like it thats synthetic and they don't tow a lot they will 50k on the syn. 25-50k on syn is a good interval depending on your driving habits and conditions. 20-30k on non syn is good.
