Help! Electrical Problem

Today I tried to install the USA Spec iPod adapter from Crutchfield. It didn't work as described (actually, it didn't work at all), so I unhooked it to send it back. After plugging my radio back in and splicing a wire for the XM Radio receiver back together everything worked fine. I left the radio on while I reinstalled the trim and dash, and suddenly my radio/nav screen blinked, and the CD changer started to reinitialize.

 

I turned the vehicle off and then it wouldn't start again, it just clicked. Furthermore, the messages flash across the dash that all of my systems need to be checked (brakes, fluid, engine, etc.). The nav screen is grainy and dim. Any suggestions? I unplugged everything that I messed with and pugged it all back in (with one exception), but to no avail. The one exception is that there was a small speaker-like thing on the side of the console trim, next the the driver's knee. A solder joint broke and I didn't re-solder it back on. I do not think that this is the issue though because everything was working fine as it was.

 

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How long did it take you to do the install? Could you have possibly had the interior light on so long that it drained your battery? I've seen low batteries make vehicles go haywire. Thats the first thing I'd check is the battery. Make sure its fully charged and able to start the engine. Then go freom there if thats not the root of the problem.
