Leather Seats

In my 01, I used some leather wipes that come in a pack like the dash wipes. I can't remember the brand, but they did just as well as the more costly products would. I also had some Meguiars cream at one time that I used and had good results from, but didn't like the slickness enough to use it often.

I am really looking for something that reconditions sets that are about 5 years old!

Our seats are not real leather, they are leather but are oversprayed with plastic so reconditioning them will not be easy and most true leather products won't keep them preserved like a true leather material.

+1 for Meguiars. I used it on the leather 04 Denali seats I put in my truck. As far as reconditioning, you can give them a really good scrubbing with a brush and some "Tuff Stuff". They sell it in a yellow and red spray can at most auto parts stores. Its a foaming cleaner that will clean seats, carpet, plastic, leather, you name it. But srubbing to much dries out the leather, that why you need to use leather cream as well. I scrubbed mine with the Tuff Stuff and kept wiping with a towel until no more dirt came out onto the towel. Then I slathered them with the Meguiars leather conditioneing cream. I literally squirted a blob on and rubbed it in with my hands like rubbing your skin with lotion. You don't really ned to put leather cream on the back and sides (the part that is actually vynil). Armor all wipes are fine for the back and sides. But as far as cracks, deep wrinkles, and wear marks, theres nothing you can do to get rid of those.

I don't have leather seats now but I've always used a product called Lexol on mine when I did and they looked as good as new when I sold the cars.

I guess reconditioning is more than what i am trying to say. I have some dry areas on my seats that I hope if i use a product like meguiars cream i can return them to soft areas again!

Try Pinnacle Leather Cleaner and then use Pinnacle Leather Conditioner. This stuff is very good and also pricey, but well worth it.They also have an all in one, cleaner/conditioner, but I prefer to do it separately. Can't find it in stores around here, I have to order in off the net. Not sure about in the States though.

Try the Zaino products-Leather conditioner and Leather in a bottle. I have used both and they work better than anything else I have tried (Meguiars, Lexol, etc.) The Leather in a bottle will bring back that leather smell. Just my .02

+1 on the TuffStuff. I use it for all the interior cleaning, dash, seats, carpet, etc. I just cleaned my wife's real leather (insert panels) seats on her Infinity. They are supposed to be gray and were dirty as heck. The TuffStuff and a soft bristle brush cleaned up what the Meguire's Gold Class Leather cleaner left behind and returned their original color and made them look nearly new. I use some mink oil on the leather afterward to replenish the oils. However, I would prefer to use a liquid cream available at fine shoe and boot stores. It's small bottle about 6-8 oz and made by Properts, probably the best leather treatment I've used. I used to use it on my saddle (expensive retro ol timer saddle) and when you have saddles, you use/try a lot of leather treatments. In a pinch, any good hand lotion like Aveno, Dove, etc. works very well. The hand lotions are very similar to the leather lotions.
