Air Recirculation Actuator Not Working. Help!

My Air recirculation actuator does not work in my "03 2500HD. It is stuck in the recircuation position which fogs up my windows. The Recirc button indicates it is in fresh air position but I can see behind the glove box it is recirc position and does not move.

Tried replacing the heater control panel because that was easy but no change. So I thought it must be the actuator. Pulled dash apart to the point where I can see actuator and pulled wire connector off it. I then plugged it into a new actuator I just bought from GM. As soon as I turned the key on the new actuator it rotated to the recirculate position (even though control was on fresh air) and stayed there just like the old one was doing. After that it would no longer move.

So I have replaced the control and the actuator, what else is there? There are 3 wires to the actuator. One has 12v and the others have close to 0v. What would be the correct signals to reverse the actuator.

Turn the AC off. Then the turn ignition to the OFF position. Pull the HVAC fuses and wait several minures, go grab a beer. Turn the ignition to the ON, but do not start. It sould take about a minute for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate. It is very important that you do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating.

 

After the calibration start the engine and check to see if the HVAC controls are back to normal.

 

If this doesn't work, you will need a tech2(dealer) to recalibrate the system.

Thanks for the info. Tried it but still did not work. I could hear the the other actuators rotating during teh calibration. Is the recirculating actuator part of the recalibration? On that one the 2 pins that sense position are not used on the connector.
