Power Pop & Lock

Just wondering if anyone has installed a power pop & lock on the tail gate? I was talking to my alarm installer and he said that the door lock on my 07 classic crew cab do not use 12v its done by the data bus system. When i called pop & lock they said to tie into the back drivers door and go as close to the door lock as possible and i should be able to find the wires there. Is there some were i could find the wire colours. Any input would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, this doesn't help you at all, but your thread title just makes me think of this:

Ive put a few in but i know the wires from doing key less entry on other stuff..

if you pull up the sill plate by the back of the seat there will be Green and Tan wires.. theres a few and they all look the same but they are the wires you need. you just test which ones you need.

one is unlock the other is lock. don't remember offhand.. but if they aren't there...

you take the door panel off and you need to use the wires coming off the switch.

I have the same lock, installed on my 06 Silverado ext cab tailgate. I connected the lock to the grey and tan wires on the passenger's door. The instructions say the driver's door. I chose the pass. door because I'm mostly by myself when cruising. Wanted to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on the lock by just unlocking my door.
