Ok, I can understand why the commission is going to do this, but to not let me coach little league baseball because I take vicodin is absurd. I've been coaching since '06, and I had 14, 9 year old kid's last year, and everyone of them looked up to me. I never once raised my voice or yelled at one of them. Granted, I would let them know if they were doing something wrong, or goofing off, but hell, that's part of being involved in sport's. I could understand if I had felonies, or drug related problem's, but I don't. I've been clean and sober for 13 year's this coming May. I've never been in trouble with the law, and I do have doctor's order's to be on vicodin. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but in today's world of ****'s, why should these kid's, or myself be put through this. My heart is aching thinking I'm not going to be able to coach this season. Oh well, I guess I'll just sit tight, and see what happen's. Sorry guy's. I had to vent a little.

How do they know?

Medical info is confidential.

From what I was told, they are planning on doing drug screening. I may be blowing this all out of proportion, but with the way my luck goe's, I'm thinking the worst.

Everyone I know and associate with know's I'm on vicodin from a back surgery.

You have a script, I don't see them causing problems for that :(

I sure hope you're right Dan. This is really tearing me up.

I'm probably getting all worked up over nothing, but the commisioner and I don't see eye to eye, and I believe he just might pull some sh*t to keep me out. I guess I shouldn't have called him an a-hole last year. :( I bet the parent's will take my side. If they can have any pull at all in this matter, I'm in like flint.

Tests cost money. I would guess they are only looking for the hard stuff (schedule I and II narcs), which vicodin won't show up on. Each chemical usually requires a seperate test. I don't see a little league paying the money for all those tests.

Either way, good luck!

I'm pretty sure you'd have solid legal footing were you to fight this. Hopefully it won't turn out to be an issue at all but I'd be damned if I just let it happen given the circumstances. Prescription medications are legal and to discriminate based upon their legal use is ridiculous. Good luck with this one, Jeff! :(

+1 on that. If you have a script and doctors note i dont see how they could do that. Fight them on it.
