Cab Noise 08 Silverado

I am experiencing what I feel is excessive noise in the cab of my 08 Silverado. The dealer does not think so. I have had them look at it several times...they partially blocked the cab pressure relief...no change. The truck has 5200 miles and the noise has been there from the start. It seems to be wind noise coming from the right rear passenger window\door...more noticeable from the driver seat. A lower level of this noise is heard from all over the cab. It also sounds if tires may be causing it. I had the truck in yesterday...manager said he would order a door gasket...guess I will need to wait and see. I sat in the middle of the rear seat yesterday as the shop manager drove and the noise was very loud...told him this...oh well. Just wondering if someone has experienced the same problem. Appreciate any and all suggestions.

I have noticed this rather loud noise as well, the only difference is that I have a regular cab, so its more profound. I think its due to crappy door gaskets. Mine sticks up about 1/4 " from the top of the rear corner of the drivers side door. I wonder how loud the Escalades are, and if they use the same gasket, or a higher quality. The same door is used, so if it is different I may change to this.

This is why we have test drives if you dont like something about then dont buy it the chances of getting it fixed are slim to none. When i was a tech and i heard it has done it from the start I wouldnt even look at it im not gonna find anything.

Sorry bud

Hope I never need service from that dealer. I don't know anybody who can inspect every moving part, notice evry abnormal squeak and detect all other manufacturing defects in a three mile test drive. After all, if we are going to find all the problems in a test drive, who needs a warranty.

FWIW... every NBS CC truck I've driven has been very quiet. Every noise I've heard had a good reason (i.e., exhaust, AT tires, etc.). If it's an extended cab, then I don't know.

@GeneChitty: Go back to the dealer and take him for a ride. THEN take an idential truck form the lot (they have a lot of them in stock nowadays) and repeat the same testdrive. I am sure you will be able to hear the difference and convince the dealer.

This has been done...a lower level of noise was heard in the identical truck. I did say in the original post they have ordered a door gasket...I did TEST DRIVE...so I guess from the test drive I did not notice noise...sorry...I have been dealing with this dealer for 18 years...everything always taken care off...sooner or later...just wondering if others have noticed the same type of noise...Thanks

My NBS RC has what I think you are describing, a lower-pitch wind rumble at the back corners of the cab. Think it's just wind turbulence echoing through the hollow cab corner like a resonance chamber. Had the same rumble with my '97 RC. Got rid of it by deadened the hollow space in the body with some fiberglass house insulation but haven't tried this yet on the newer truck.
