Tpms Sensor Removal

Are you getting new rims, or just swapping temporarily?

You should be able to swap the TMPS sensor if you're getting new tires. You do have to have a tool if you want to make sure the right tire is being recognized by the computer. You're supposed to be able to do it yourself by entering the "Tire Setup Mode" and letting air out of the tires when it tells you to. Some guys use magnets. I've never had luck doing this though.

Your local tire shop should have the equipment to do it. Mine charges $15 which pisses me off. They basically walk up to it with this little gadget, and press a button. :D But it'd be worth checking out.

You can swap the sensors, but you will need to buy new stems, they are one-time use stems.

+1....Stems are only like 10 bucks a piece at the dealer...
