Seat Questions

Hello I've got a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, I recently Got some new to me bucket seats(old ones were trashed), well i got Them in everytheng fit fine till i got to the end and relized that These nice new Seats Dont have side airbags :lol: well I feel kinda Stupid now for not checking to see if they had them or not, anyway I was wondering if anyone knew how to disable the Side airbags on the Truck so the Light wont come on?

A craftily cut piece of electrical tape should do the trick :sigh:

 

Yeah that or pulling the bulb. Witch I don't really want to do.

You may be able to swap the side airbags from your old seats into the new ones.... check with a local upholstery shop.

 

that was what I was gonna say. The other route would be to have a Tech 2 turn off the side airbag communication in the BCM

I were planing on having the air bags put in the new seats but I just wanted to check on here to see if there was any other options. I already checked with the Dealer and they said there was no way to reprogram it or turn them off(witch I think is a load of bull).

 

Any other ideas?

No other ideas other than to swap BCMs out with another that does not have the airbag option and then have the dealer (different one) reprogram the features that are in your truck. That dealer does not want to be liable for disabling a SIR system without proper medical documentation...
