I Know Most You Don't Like Badges But...

I paintmatched the small bowties on my 1500 badges. I noticed that the bowtie on my passenger side badge cracked and fell off, so I pulled off both the badges. I would've left it that way, but it left two gaping holes in my side molding, and that is NOT coming off.

I pried off the bowtie from the driver side badge (bottom) and painted it the same way I did the bowtie on my grille (here's the writeup I used at GMFS). Since the bowtie broke on the passenger badge (top), I just taped off the badge, cut out the bowtie, and put several coats of primer, paint, and (lots of) clear on it. It came out nice. The picture doesn't show it, but the clear plastic bowtie gives the paint a bit more gloss.

I will post more pics of these when I put them on my truck tomorrow.

Hey Kyle, not bad at all, I'd watch out for daddy though. :D
Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed he hadn't chimed in yet. Here are the pics as promised:

Those trucks were hard to debadge unless you pulled off the moldings. I remember we even had aftermarket badges for them available that were pretty popular. Stuff like SS 350 and the like that replaced the OEM badges. it was a different truck world in the GMT400 truck days.

I should do that to mine! Oh, wait... :dunno:

Kidding. All disdain for emblems aside, they look good.

I'm impressed.
