07 Style Factory Head Unit Work With 03 Silverado?

i have an 03 duramax LT fully loaded with the bose system, awesome, 6cd changer, but does not play mp3's, which is kind of a pain, and i do not even own ipod/etc. Will the 07 styles work in mine? Thanks!

I doubt it, the connectors are different and I think the new styles have a different data bus as well...

nope. won't work. vin lock required, and data bus is critical.

If you are looking to replace your stereo you might as well look into an after market unit that will give you everything you have now plus navigation, Bluetooth and MP3 playback all in one. Hell, you can get DVD playback too.

There are devices such as the "Aux-box" that plug in to the aux input jack which can be used to accomodate another input such as an iPod- anything that has line level outputs. I believe you can use it along with an existing changer with the right harness. There is more than one model/make of these things- I'll bet there is one that will work for your application.

Let me know if you decide to try to figure out how to get this to work. Daddy has a point about going aftermarket, but these 07+ CD/XM/MP3 head units can be had for under $100 on ebay and they're pretty good looking too. Also, it sounds like it will be a challenge. Aftermarket is not a challenge, just a PITA....Of course doing this could BOTH a challenge and a PITA.
