Tires And Wheels

I posted this over on the Compact truck and SUV Forum but didn't get a response. So I figured that I would post over here. It looks like you guys are into wheels more than they are. Sorry if this is considered a double post. The truck in question is a 2007 Colorado Z71.

Is anyone running an extra set of tires and wheels for the winter? If so how did you handle the TPMS.

Um, with another set of sensors in the wheels that were installed

It's the only way you can do it, Search TPMS and you will get tons of info

That was the reason that I came to this forum. I did the search and got tons and tons of conflicting information. Everyone has a different idea as to how the sensors are controlled by the computer and what you have to do when a new set of sensors are introduced into the system and each time there after. Or just running the tires and wheels without sensors. I was looking for someone that has gone through this and what and how they handled it. Did you have to go back to the dealer each time you changed the tire and wheels to get the sensors relearned. Your real experience with this would be appreciated. Not all the hear say info that I have been getting from someone that hasn't gone throught this process .

i run my stock ones in winter i still have them on right now with no TPMS in the them and my tpms light stays on but no big to me its only a few months.

I don't have TPS in my summer set-up either. I just deal with the light on the dash. Doesn't bother me since it doesn't ding at you or anything. Someday I might buy some sensors, but I doubt it.
