I like 'em all but the second one and the last are great.Amazing how many cashiers rely on the ''change'' amount in the little window to give you back the correct change.Remember when cashiers litterally ''counted'' your change when giving it to you? That's back when you had to do a little subtraction in your head...don't see that anymore,sad.

So true. I remember once about 5 years ago I was in a fast food restaurant and their computers/registers were down. So they had to do it manually. My total was $3.75, I gave her $4.00 and she had to write it down and do the subtraction like they teach 2nd graders. I was like "WTF??? It's 25 cents". She ignored me and continued her little math lesson.

As the saying goes: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink".

 

Minnesota has some of the best public education in the country and we still produce a very high number of idiots. (STFU daddy ).

It is pathetic,and the more new eletronics come along and start doing our mental work for us the more society is gonna suffer. Imagine if some wierd power loss happened and all 'puters,I-phones,PDAs and the like stopped working? What then? get out the pad and pencil? actually walk to a friends house to see them and say Hi? and drink a brewski? Modern electronics has made us lazy....

I don't BLAME the schools really. There are still some really good schools (and fantastic teachers) but their hands are tied by teacher's unions. Nationwide there has been a constant "dumbing down" of the required subject material covered every time the teacher's unions strike up a new deal... and our kids suffer. Many schools have basically gone to "outcome based education" 2+2 can equal 5 as long as the student was "trying his best". You can play baseball but can't keep score because we wouldn't want anybody to lose.

 

Ridiculous AND sad. Life is about winning a few AND losing a few. Kids need to be taught this. It's wrong to teach them that decisions (right or wrong) don't have consequences...

 

It doesn't look like anybody is really paying attention though...

Ive got one you can add that happened to me today.

 

 

I was getting in line at a gas station car wash today. The lot is so small that when there is a car in front of the garage door I basically have to leave a car length behind it, so that other cars can pull off the street and drive by to get to the line of gas pumps.

 

This leaves me parked next to a gas pump (With enough room for 2 cars behind me before they stick out to the intersecting street). Seeing a line of cars pull in behind me I say to hell with it and pull forward blocking the lane. The cars behind me can now get gas and not be stuck out in cross traffic .

This older guy that was getting gas on the other side of the pump I was parked at comes over to my window and says, Sir you cant block this lane, cars need to get through and I cant get out now. I looked at him, then in my mirror behind his car and said. OK, so back out...
