He is talking about GM extended warrantys.

To the OP, it depends who underwrites them...I am guessing GM, but I hope not as I want to buy a GM major guard in July.

Filing C11 does NOT mean warranties will be voided. That is HIGHLY unlikely and is up to the bankruptcy judge.

I assume you are talking about both factory and extended warranties?

That makes me feel better about buying it, but still would like official conformation.

Can't say for certain until they file and the proceedings take place. But either way, why do you want to buy one? I wouldn't buy one regardless of GM's status.

Then call GM and ask... As in flux as thing are, I doubt you'll get a straight answer, though. I mean, you can't really say with 100% accuracy what someone else (the bankruptcy judge) is going to say... :flag:

I would think that it's highly unlikely that the bankruptcy judge would void the warranties. That would further tarnish the brand for many people and be counter to trying to make the company better, which is what Chapter 11 is "supposed" to try to do.

Call & see, though... I doubt that anyone there will say with 100% conviction that they are "sure" that the warranties would be good IF (when?) GM goes into bankruptcy... And if you do find someone who says they "know" the warranties won't be voided, they're lying... That's my opinion on it, at least..

Yeah... just jokin.

A agree on the extended warranty... they are like buying smoke.
