Adding Navigation

I have a 2007 GMC sierra non-bose UQ3. I have a factory nav radio and installed it but now have low sound and no chimes for turn siganls, seat belt, or park assist. can I add a factory bose amp to get sound and how hard would that be. thanks

hey i just finished this install and it worked perfect! it sounds like you installed the nav that play dvds, if that is right you will need the stock bose amp or you can use a aftermark 4 channel amp thats what i did but it is up to you. if you use a aftermark amp you will need the amp and a line out converter MAKE SURE that you use that driver side door speaker as one of your lines going to your loc because all off your chimies are sent to the drive side door speaker! this is only if that nav is for a bose dead head system if it is a lux amp you will have to get that amp you can't go after maket

With the factory nav unit, the output aren't amplified so you'll need an amp. You've got two routes here. Either the appropriate Bose amp that would normally go with the nav or the adapter wiring harness to wire to an aftermarket amp. Check for threads on replacing a Bose amp. A third option if you want to add aftermarket speakers or subs, is to put them in along with a Bose amp so you'll retain all the stock functionality.

got a bose amp that is not for denalli bought a console wiring harness for $40 and cut the end off and spliced it into my lock pick harness and it works great. does not have as much bass as I think it should but I can always add subs later, thanks
