Wipers/washer Have A Mind Of Their Own On 2008 1500

I was driving to work this morning in my 3 month old 2008 GMT 900 LTZ when the wipers and washer came on suddenly. They did it about 5 or 6 times and I tried different positions of the wiper/washer switches to no avail. Finally, I shut the truck off at the next stoplight and restarted it. That seemed to stop the cycle of about 30 seconds between activations.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Sounds like you hit the heated windshield fluid button...

I'd like to think that was it. If I knew where the button was I might even believe it. WTF does a guy in SoCal need with a heated washer fluid system anyway?

So, assuming I hit this button (of unknown location), would it cycle that many times?

Mine will sometimes kick on a time or two when I pull in my garage at night. I dunno if it has to do with the humidity change or what it is. Maybe its the same on yours.

If it was the heated fluid button, the wipers wouldn't move until it was time for the fluid to come out.

its below the radio by the Traction control and parking assist buttons i think..

Parking assist??? I must be getting old. I think I need assisted living. Is that on my LTZ too? :D

Mine will cycle 4 times before shutting off. Depending on what speed you are going, it may cycle 8 times (If going slow), the additional 4 being a single wipe a few seconds after each wash cycle.

If you had hit the heated washer button, you would have gotten 3 cycles of wash/wipe, usually takes about 2 minutes to complete all of it. The Button is located above the cupholders and I have accidently hit mine several times while reaching for a coffee cup and thought "Hey! what the F--" :D

Heated washer fluid also takes the bugs off much better for those of you not bedeviled with freezing precipitation like us poor souls up here.

Mine does 4 cycles, I wonder if they changed it to 3 for the 08's??? Hmmm?

Ok, then I guess Blaine can't count past 3.

Oops! Sorry.

Man, you guys are good! Can't get anything past ya! I guess I never let the thing go thru all 4 cycles just because it uses sooo much fluid and kinda makes a mess. Sorry again for polluting this thread with incorrect information.
