5.3l/6 Speed In An Extended Cab?

Hey guys, cool site. Anyways, I am looking to replace my 1986 GMC 3/4T 4X4 with a 2009 GMC 1500. I am after the extended cab, 6' box and the 5.3/6 speed combo. According to GM, this should have been a mid year introduction and it still is not available. So I was wondering if anyone here might have the answer if it will be for 2009? I'm not too sure on the crew cab 5'8" box size. Thanks.

I pick up my '09 silverado half ton crew next week. its got a 5.3 with the 6 speeder

When I was shopping I found the majority of the trucks on lots in the North East had the 6 speed in them. There were no trucks with the 4.8 and most had the 5.3 I only found 2 with the 6.0 and no truck has the 6.2.

 

Finding the 5.3 with six speed shouldnt bet that hard but I guess it really depends on location and what sort of inventory they have. I drove the 5.3 with the 6 speed and thought it was a great combination.

He is asking about the EXTENDED cab verision, obviously the crew has had the 6 speed in it all year and that is what will be in them, but the extended cabs i have not seen any yet with the 6 speed in it

Thanks, Chupacabra. Yes, I was talking about the extended cab. I was hoping maybe someone who works @ one of the US plants would be involved here and may be able to shed some light. The dealers here just know that it is not avaliable yet. I sent an e-mail to GM Canada and got back a nonsensical response. Looks like I'll have to settle for a crew cab; though I was hoping to support factory jobs in the US or Canada rather than Mexico. As a note, the forums here are wicked; such a wealth of info.
