Truck Stalls Or Sounds Like It's Going To

i'm having a problem with my truck, it's an 81 gmc c1500 high sierra, it seems like everytime i give it full throttle or close to it, it almost stalls out untill i let off, and if i stay down on it, it sometimes stalls out and sometimes just goes? can anyone help me out?!?!

Welcome aboard Does this thing have a carborator? If so, it could be time for a rebuild.

yea it does have a carb, and i was thinging about installing a brand new one anyways, any suggestions? 305

Have you changed the fuel filter? Check the fuel pump as well. If your carb hasn't been rebuilt in a long time, it probably needs a good cleaning and a fresh kit put in it.

Welcome to the qjet family sounds like the carb needs a rebuild but I would check that fuel filter too!

well thank you very much your all very helpful, just about to move so after i get the truck to the new place (and see'n as the nice weathers here finally) i can get to working on it!!
