I'm sure this has been asked numerous times, but I got tired of searching.

The drivers front speaker is blown and I need to replace the speakers. I'll probably do all 4. Truck is a 2006 crew cab, factory radio with 4 speakers.

I checked Crutchfield, but just way too many speakers listed. I'm looking for descent sounding replacements that aren't going to break the bank. Maybe around $50-$60 per pair.

Any recommendations?

If you are sticking with the OEM radio, the Kenwood stuff isn't bad for the money. I've heard the 1662S in front doors. They are efficient enough to run off of the factory radio power and sound pretty good. You can certainly buy higher end speakers but they are going to be more money and require some amplification to get max performance out of them.

+1 You'd be wasting money by buying high-end speakers and running them on the factory radio.

The best thing you could do is go to brick-and-mortar car audio shop and listen to a few sets of speakers and let your ears decide. I can give you a few recommendations, but I'd really just be picking speakers for my ears, not yours.

I certainly wouldn't pay what Crutchfield is asking for them. $50 is nuts for those speakers.

I bought some pioneer 4-way 6.5 inch speakers for all four doors of my suburban. I beleive they are the tsa1681r ?? At crutchfield and best buy, they wanted 100 -125 a pair. I bought two pairs on ebay for 119 shipped to my door. I actually bought these like 4 years ago for my wife's 2001 altima, and they sounded GREAT! I took them out in 2005 when we traded her car in for a new one. They don't have quite as much bass as they had in the Nissan, but very crisp and clear even at high volume. Hopefully I'll eventually get around to putting the amp on them (that is still sitting in the closet collecting dust ). I'd say they are 10 times better than the factory speakers.
