My New G80

So after driving trucks with an open diff for the last 7-8 years i got the g80 posi installed and all i can say is WOW. Took it offroading (pretty heavy mudding actually) and it never even hesitated on anything i did. I once got stuck in my open diff on wet grass, and here i was driving in 1 ft mud holes and never had a second of problems. Not bad for a 2wd truck! Just wanted to let everyone know its a great option, and if you can find one for a few hundred bucks, grab it and upgrade your open diff to a positrac

I love the G80 differential in my truck also. One of the worst experiences I have ever had was with Dodge limited slip differentials in their pickups. They were a major handful and tended to like to go sideways too much. The G80 is only there when you need it

i had a toyota pickup back in college with open diffs. one night i parked in an asphalt parking lot with a puddle just behind one rear tire. overnight the puddle froze and when i went to back out in the morning i wasn't moving anywhere. the entire parking lot was dry, except for that one frozen puddle, and my damn truck just sat there spinning that tire. i had to climb out, lock my manual hubs, climb back in and put it in 4wd just to back out of my parking space. humiliating. my G80 was awesome this winter- i was climbing up ice covered hills in 2wd.
