Rear Differential Fluid

How much 75w-90 fluid does a 2005 Silverado 2500HD 6.6L rear differential require? I am changing the fluid totally and can't seem to find the correct amount anywhere.

If you have you operators manual it will be in the back under "capacities" but i`m recalling it takes 4-5 pints? and if it has the factory limited slip you shuld throw in a couple bottles of gm friction modifier.

CAUTION

 

This truck should have the G80 locking diff. it is not a limited slip. A G80 should NEVER have oil with modifier in it. It can damadge the unit. Even though the diff does have clutches in it, it does not get additive in it.

Only 2-2.5 quarts? Thought the 10 bolts on the 1500s took 2 quarts.
