Recommended Posts

ok so ya know the yellow and white sticker that says warning bla bla crap on it? well i thought it was gay and had to go so i pulled it off, not a good idea cuz now i cant get the sticky crap off and i dont want to spray it with anything that might hurt the fabric and the more i try to scrape it off the more it stretches the fabric out.

any ideas on how to get it off with out hurting anything?

All ears here. Any makers one of these are ON THERE! (Big brother, again)

Those things drive me nuts as I usually drive with it down. Not because of sun, but because if it is up there, it has nothing to do with the road and I don't need to see it anyways, except a stop light with front row seating of course.

I was on a Dodge Magnum forum a couple of years ago and someone made up new decals to replace the safety one and compliment the vehicle. Other than that, naptha should remove the goo.

If you try that, lmk. I want to remove that ugly ass sticker too.I read several people using denatured alcohol to remove the sticker too.

After trying to use an iron for heat and melting the fabric on the visor I just bought 2 of those strap over storage devices. The color matchs, they cover the stickers (and melted areas), and I now have lots more space to keep pens, lighters, all kinds of junk.

Trust me on this one as I have attempted it and had to have both visors replaced, leave it alone. The heat, peel and goo-gone method works great but only for a short time. Eventually the glue that holds the fabric to the visor will give way and the material will sag and look like hell. If you really want these de-badged take them to an upholstery shop and have them recovered.

I dug up this thread to see what the current thinking is. I really hate the way they look from the outside when mine are down. If the consensus is don't monkey with them, I might be thinking a tape "racing stripe" over the govt mandated BS. :P

A very, very dark tint strip across the top would be sorta OK, but my beef with them is that shops always seem to follow the contour of the glass/roof line, not the horizon, resulting in a "frown" across the top :( - not flat/paralleling the ground like I'd want, dad gummit.

Daddy- any more experiences to relay?

Takevin- did you do it yet? If anyone has pulled it off, and well, I figured it would be you. Or are your visors orange crushed velvet now? :( (actually, that doesn't sound so bad...)

Geektoad- do it yet?

TWC- what was done?

Yeah, just one look at that sticker and it's pretty obvious that thing isn't going to go quietly. It used to always annoy me seeing it there... but honestly, I've just gotten used to it. I don't even notice it anymore.

Well... mostly. :P But like others have suggested, I'd either find something to cover it up or take it to a pro.
