Rusty to be penalized? UPDATE: NASCAR is expected to issue a penalty against Wallace by Tuesday for his bump and spin of Rudd during last weekend's race at Dover, Del. Rudd was the race leader at the time. Sources said the penalty is being issued for Wallace's "unrepentant" attitude following the incident. Rudd and Wallace got into a mostly verbal confrontation in the garage area after the race. UPDATE: NASCAR has opted not to penalize Rusty Wallace for his involvement in a late-race wreck with Ricky Rudd at Dover .Wallace was expected to be assessed a fine this week for his bump and spin of Rudd, then the race leader, in the Sept. 23 race at Dover. Rudd was attempting to put Wallace a lap down at the time of the incident. The two got into a physical confrontation in the garage area following the race. Sources confirmed Wednesday NASCAR has decided not to penalize Wallace following his speeding penalty during last Sunday's race at Kansas Speedway(That's Racin')(10-2-2001)
