Wheel Sealer For Painted/clear Coated Wheels?

Recommended Posts

My wheels are machined, painted and clear coated. I heard that normal auto wax doesn't hold up due to the heat at the wheels. I went to an auto store expecting to find a wheel cleaner & sealer for painted and clear coated wheels but everything they had was for either chrome or polished.....

Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, should I steer clear from the spray on/hose off cleaners? Figure they may be harsh on the clear coat.....

Poor boys wheel sealent

And yes, I\'d stay away from the spray on, hose off cleaners. I do like Eagle one wheel cleaner though. Works well on chrome, but not polished.

I agree w/ stevens07, stay aways from all that spray/wash blsht. You have to put in some manual labor for good results. Those srpay/wash products use a ton of chems to clean and they don't leave behind enough protection.

I use the same paint care process on the wheels that I do on the rest of the car. wash, clay, polish, seal, wax twice a year and use a spray on wax once a month in between.

As for cleaning, I use a long hair nylon scrub brush and just use the soap from the car bucket. NOTE: I leave all my car washing products in the soap water until next time. This keeps all the bristles soft it doesn't scratch the rims. But aside from that I never use any other special cleaner or process and the rims match the paint in appearance and compliments are the same.
