Silverstar Vs Stock

Recommended Posts

I typically upgrade my bulbs to Silverstars, but my stock '07 nbs GM's look pretty damn bright. Are the Silverstars actually an upgrade?

same here, i usually upgrade my vehicles to the silverstars. the stock bulbs are plenty bright though so i have no desire to go spend $30-$50 on new bulbs. i'm keeping my oem bulbs in, but i'm still interested in hearing feedback on this.

Only use silverstars if you plan on changing your head lights every year.

I've been burning them for over 2 years now.....vast improvement over the stock bulbs for the 02.

Unless they've changed the design, there were dozens of complaints on here regarding their longevity.

I must have gotten lucky with the set I had in my '02. They lasted for 3 years up until I sold it. :rollin:

I've run silverstars in quite a few vehicles. never had a problem with them. Is there any documentation to this, or is it just one of those "I saw on the internet..." things? :rollin:

I have run them in several of my other cars with no issues. I'm just curious if they are any brighter than my stock ones on my NBS.

Perhaps the "ones" doing the complaining are the same "ones" that put their grubby little fingers all over the bulbs during the installation process....

Yes, they will be brighter than stock. maybe not as noticeable an improvement as Silverstars on Jeep wrangler (night and day) but still brighter.

Same here. I just replaced the set in the Tahoe a couple of weeks ago. I had those ones in for 5 years. It seemed they both went at the same time.

I had them in a couple trucks I have had and had no problems with them. However a friend of mind bought them and they would last 2-3 months at the most

most of mine lasted a long time, but i had one in my last car that went out after a few months. might have been a dud. a buddy of mine swears up and down that they're shit and burn out after a few months. i suspect he man-handles the bulbs when he puts them in.
