Remove Air Steering Wheel

can someone tell me how to remove the air bag from my 2003 yukon denali xl?got it off ,my steering shaft is loose,i am down to the black plastic ring that holds the air bag wires,how does this come off?

I think the wires should be disconnected from the airbag itself, not the steering wheel portion...At least it does on my 07 Silverado.
