Got mine in the mail Friday, installed it and can't fuggin take my eyes off of the dash. I actually think that my AFM is doing a lot for me now that I can see it. When in V4 mode I never get under 23mpg and as soon as it kicks into V8 mode it drops right to 18 and below. Cruisin at 70mph on the highway in V4 mode I can get consistant 27-33mpg.

Yeah, it's a fun upgrade, plus the fact that it's so easy makes it even sweeter!

Don't want to sound stupid, but what is it your talking about, and can I put one on my 2005? Sounds like your saving a lot of fuel, take care, Jake.

This is the control switches for the Driver Infomation Center. NBS trucks only received these switches as part of an option package. Something similar was available in '05 but requires reprogramming computers to make it work. NBS is just plug & play.

You can get an aftermarket display unit that will basically do the same thing, if not more, except it will not look as nice as out DIC's.

I ordered mine on 4/29 and it says it is backordered now. How long did it take you guys to get it in the mail? I'm just looking for a timeline as to when i can expect it. I ordered from GM parts direct. Thanks

Is the NNBS DIC different than the 2003-2006? My mileage is averaged since the last reset. My Monte Carlo will tell me that I'm getting 48mpg when I lift off the gas and coasting and says that I'm getting 9mpg when I get on it. My truck stays at 16.x and changes only when my driving habits change enough to vary the average. I drove 10 miles yesterday trying to get the increase from 16.4 to 16.5mpg.

Can I get a real time average instead of constant average?

On my truck there is average economy and instant economy. The average is the one that will average all readings until you clear it. Instant is an average of the past few seconds. I think the instant feature was not available on your truck.

to add to this, i did the DIC upgrade on my SL model truck and i don't have an instant fuel economy option. only average fuel economy. i'm not sure if this option is associated with the package (SL, SLE, SLT, etc.) or if it's associated with AFM. my 4.8 does not have AFM obviously.

That's odd, I thought all of them had the capability. When showing the average fuel economy I have to push the "Road" button like 4-5 times then the instant comes up. It could so be that if on instant and pushing the "Road" button once it will go to overall average.

that doesn't make sense. you push the road button to cycle through all driving related information (e.g. trip odometer, average fuel economy, etc.). are you saying that once you hit the road button and cycle through to average fuel economy, you need to hit a different button to show the instant economy?
