Installed Hids. A Little Help Needed

i installed hids on my 03 silverado i also bought the reley harness but i did not install this due to me not knowing how to tie it into the battery after reading it looks like im gonna have to can someone show me or explain to me how this is done any pictures? thanks in advance

there are some of the pictures that I animated on my install on my 2006 silverado. Be mindful of the "lock tab" on the OEM harness connection and the HID connection. One of these did not lock and I simply squeezed them together and they have held. I hooked the relay power and ground harness to my battery with battery post extenders to make it easier to connect since the OEM was a tight fit...

M. Cueva I have a question for you regarding your install, when you mentioned the battery post extenders. What exactly do those look like, I have always bought a battery with the side and top posts for more room for accessories. I am curious about your extenders, and nice job with the pictures too!..............AMY

Most guys use battery post extenders when there are alot of accessories hooked directly up to the battery. those post extenders cost me $10.00 at Orielly's ($10.00 for both of them) so I considered it a wise investment since I had multiple accessories coming off the battery already.

That's the first time I have seen those before, I really like the idea versus what I did. I have 6 off-road lights, plus a bunch of LED's for my headlights hooked up to the top posts. It doesn't take much for the wires to get stacked pretty high, I like mine on the top posts only because there super easy to take off when I have to go to the dealer. I actually don't have HID's on my truck, but I am always interested on how people run there wiring and how it's all hooked up.

yeah it really helps out...damn yours must be tough to tighten and untighten...

Well I do all of my own work on my truck, so this isn't the most professional job you'll ever see BUT it does all work when I need it to. My biggest problem is hiding all of it when going to the dealer, I basically tuck everything up behind the headlights and so far it has worked. Here's a picture of my setup, this is with everything hooked up as it is right now.

well i think i messed something up along the way or something but now my truck idles really low and seems as it almost stalls sometimes..it starts every time and runs but rpms kinda surge under load

That is usually not an issue that comes from the HIDs. That is usually mechanical since the PCM controls the idle speed. I would check the connections and see if anything could be pulling too much power (short), or disconnect the lights while it is still daylight out and see if the truck behaves differently.....

Nice work. I hid my stuff except the battery connections so the dealership does not know it unless the ambient sensor fires the headlights.
