Rear Speakers

I just bought a 2002 GMC Sierra ext cab. I know the rear speakers our 4x6, is it fairly easy to swap those out for a set of 5x7. I know it is only 1 inch bigger in every direction. Just looking to see if someone has already done this to their truck.

It is not worth the effort. Just disconnect them and run a decent front 6.5" component set. I promise you won't miss them.

Don't cut up your door panels for absolutely no improvement.

I looked at it the other day and it looks like I would not even have to cut up the door panel that much. The opening under the grill in the back already has a little more room pass the amount of space the factory 4x6 speakers take up. If anything I would have to pop the grill off and cut a little more to the opening and then put the grill back. It looks like it might be possible to keep a oem look. The reason I asked about the 5x7 speakers is because I was planning to running a set of Infinity Kappa60.9cs in the front and a set of the Infinity Kappa 680.9cs speakers in the rear. Then I would just make a hole for the tweeter right next to the grill.
