Has anyone any info on the 1992 Suburban 454 SS, like how many were made, if any? I have one and I haven't seen another one ever. I have been driving suburbans for most of my conscience life! :driving:

While GM did put 454's in the 3/4-ton Suburban's,They never made an "SS" version of the Suburban...someone added some stickers or emblems to yours.

Thanks for the info. The Body trim area...usually displays 1500 or 2500, has the 454 SS trim. Is this trim available as an aftermarket item?

Might've come from the SS pickups?

Many different emblems were available aftermarket for those trucks and Suburbans. The only legit 454SS was a RCSB Black pickup with the 454 in it. It was available as an option package and I believe they made as many as dealers would order and sell. They weren't particularly fast but I think they were very cool just the same! I'd bet your big block Suburban is a towing monster!

Not stock, but the potential was there for not much $$$.

VERY true. Some people made serious monsters out of them. That's what makes the packages like that cool. All the basics are in place.

I love mine :)

I don't do much towing, but the ride is the best. I have found a GMC truck person in NC, "Extreme Off Road", he has three suburbans in different states of repair/upgrades, he will be doing some work for me. My 92 has 220,000 miles, but runs great. My only challenge is the gas mileage....I'm working on that one!

Seriously, just a cam swap and you probably go from 230hp to 450hp.

I use mine to tow a 7,500lb.(that's loaded with dirtbikes, etc.) toy hauler and carry our grandaughters to the desert..The gas mileage isn't too good but I bought it knowing that.I bought it to do a job..and it does it quite nicely....

I think mine is about to turn 217,000,here's a pic,

From what I hear, your truck hasn't pulled a single stump. Any comment?
