So I need some dents fixed, long story (See my bumper caps thread). I have a dent program that pays to have this stuff fixed, these are the shops available for my use to get them fixed FREE. So can anybody in the Oklahoma City area that has had experience with these shops suggest or bad mouth one of them?

I had to use a guy one time on the Sierra. He did an outstanding job and you cannot even tell there ever was a dent. The best thing to do is call and get the number of the guy your dealership uses. Usually he is a local guy and not affiliated with the national chains. They tend to do better work, as it is a career and not someone getting paid by the hour to do a job. YMMV.

Any shop you go to is only going to be as good as the one guy that works on your truck. I'd pick a shop, then make it known that I was going to be picky as hell (and I do) and go for it. PDR guys can do some really amazing work.

Ask Wingnut where he got his done. He lives in OKC.

Just had PDR done to my truck today after some a$$hole hit my truck with his door...From what I understand it depends where the dent is, if they can use tools to get behind the dent then they should be able to make it look like it never happened. If they are glue pulling it, takes alot longer/more expensive and is harder to make it look perfect.

Here is pic of mine before, he was able to get behind it through the gas tank.

After: looks like it did before, haven't taken pics

How much dose it Cost to remove a dent?

Mine cost $230, it depends on the size/depth/accessability

Much cheaper than the body shop which wanted $600 and the truck for 2 days

I hope they can get to mine, its on the driver side fender, about 12" from the headlight, and right above the body crease. I'm afraid with it being so close to the crease, it will cause them problems, but anything they do will be better than it is now.

I think I will try to use Dent Depot and Tear Repair, they are the only ones I can locate with the better business bureus, and they have a great record.

That area should not be an issue unless the area is completely blocked off. The tech will probably remove the headlight assembly to access the area. I'm not familiar with the inner fender of the newer trucks, but I know on my 06, that there are some bracing issues in certain areas of the fender. That area is open on my truck. If the tech is any good, the body line won't be an issue at all. Especially if the dent isn't on the body line.

I think I need to start charging more for my work. I know the economy sucks, but I always charge way too little for my repairs. If people want their vehicles fixed, I guess they'll pay the price.

I had an independent paintless dent removal guy work on several of my vehicles (not my truck) and he did a great job. I had several dents in the driver's door of one of them and two body shops said that the door could not be repaired by paintless technique and wanted almost $ 700 to repair and repaint the door. He got the 4 dents out of that door for $ 150 and it looks like new.

The key to successful paintless repair technique is the depth of the ding/dent. If they are too deep, the metal stretches too much and it is very difficult to get the metal to the original shape without any waviness. Shallow dings/dents are good candidates for paintless repair.

Keep in mind that these guys can not only fix dents/dings, but also bulges in the metal. I had a few of these in the quarter panel of one of my cars where something pushed out the metal through the trunk and was visible on the outside. He used a short plastic pointed stick and a hammer to knock the protrusion back flat and I was amazed at the results.

Andy, I am going to try and keep your hopes up.

It was a cold and cloudy winter day when.....just kidding. I was waxing my truck in December when I put two dents in it. Yes you read that right I did it. I have an old 10" polisher that I was using to wax my truck. It is stable enough to sit on the hood without it moving but then again I had the extension cord hooked up to it. So my fat ass comes around the corner and trips over the cord. The polisher came off the hood and the fender with the bonnet facing up. :D I put two dents on the truck, one on the fender and one on the hood. They were only separated by the gap between the fender and hood. I felt like killing myself, shitting my pants and passing out all at the same time (I had never experienced a sensation like that in my life now that I think about it). At that moment I thought the dents weren't going to pop out cleanly because of their location. A PDR place and $125 later all was good. You can't notice a thing.

I know, it was my fault too. I drove through a gate, but skipped the essential step of opening it first.

Wow, I think you have me beat on that one Andy. Btw...did you close the the gate behind you after you were done? :sigh:
