Newest Modification

So after somebody posted showing results painting the tailgate handle and bezel red, I decided to try my hand at a similar modification, plus I want some practice in case I paint my bumper end caps.

Anywho, yesteerday I sanded, my handle bezel smooth, shot it with the adhesion promoter, threeish coats of black, and threeish coats of clear. Now it loks real pretty. Today I stopped and picked up a chrome cover for the handle and stuck it on. TADA! Looks like an Escalade tailgate now.

I'll post some pictures, soon as I get home, and before anyone looks at it or comments to the effect.

I AM NOT DEBADGING ANYTHING!

It wouldn't be the first time, but... I must be missing something here.

Why go to the trouble of sanding, the adhesion promoter, 3 coats of paint, and 3 coats of clear... just to cover it up with a chrome cover??

Yes the truck is clean, see the drops from where I rinsed it off? I know I said Im not debadging it, but the gold emblem is detracting from my new bling, maybe, maybe I'll paint it black.
