2006 Gmc Canyon Starting And Braking Issues

Hello,

I drive a 2006 GMC Canyon as a work truck and ive been having some problem's. First i noticed sometimes it wont start up. The starter will click but it wont ignite. The only solution i have found with this is to sit for 15-20 min and usually that works or somebody told me to bang on the steering wheel.(personally never tried it so i don't know if it works) its more an inconvenience then a major problem but if you know what the problem is id like to take it somewhere. Also with the brakes, i don't know what makes it do it but if im driving kind of slow ie. 5-10 mph the wheels will lock up even if i tap the brake pedal. another thing that happens is if i hold the brake at a certain point to come to a complete stop it feels like the brakes work then don't and repeats. when this first happened i got all my breaks changes which was about 500$. and i soon realized that wasn't the problem. My district manager said he has the same issues in his Canyon but im not sure what year it is. Maybe if you have information about these problems or if anybody else has a solution/diagnosis id love to get this fixed

As in you would normally turn the key...

There would be a brief "click sound", then the sound of the starter turning the engine, then a "Varoom" sound as the engine starts.

 

So are you saying you just turn the key and get a click sound and then nothing more?

 

Or are you saying you get the click sound, then the starter turning the engine sound, but the engine never starts?
