Hello to you all from Denver,

My wife and I just picked up a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE with 167K miles on it. The truck is a 1-owner that was taken very good care of the last 9 years. Here is a link. All I have at work is the original image from where it was bought. Others are still on the camera.

We did a car fax on it through the broker we used to pick the truck up. Nothing but good history.

My first question is this. The truck has been very well maintained. You can see it when you look at the truck, like it has been in a time capsule. Is 167K miles bad for a GMC that was well cared for? It doesn't leak and doesn't smoke, but I have never had a truck like this before. Records show the previous owner used synthetic oil in the 5.3L. Thanks for any feedback.

Great looking truck. Congrats. I'd continue using synthetics..they work!

Thanks for the feedback. Do you think 167K miles is a lot for a well maintained truck?

NOT MANY MILES AT ALL FOR A GM ENGINE

Thanks for the response. With an engine that is taken care of, what do you think the life expectancy could be?

This is purely a guess but 300k, as long as u continue to take care of it

That is what I was thinking as well. Thank you for the quick responses.

Welcome to GMT! Sounds like you checked the maintenance records on it and since it appears to have been well cared for, it should give you lots more miles of service..

Wow even the winch is color matched.

Sweet looking truck.

It also is 90% debadged. Tobias would approve minus the 10%....:)

Thanks for all the replies and compliments. We are really excited to take the truck out. We already have a list of places we are heading to with it over Memorial.

We drove it all last weekend after the broker delivered it Saturday. I love having a truck again. We had an '05 Titan, but sold it when gas went up to over $4 a gallon here in Denver and I bought an '08 Accord. I like the mileage but I've always been a truck guy at heart. It feels so good to have a truck again (kept the Accord) and my wife totally loves having a truck again as well.
