brims Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Got my tune today. It really helps the truck out a lot. Justin said I had a bad tank of gas, it was pinging bad in the higher RPMs during a 2nd gear run. I added half a tank of gas from another station and it seems to have stopped that problem. Now that I have a tune, I don't like how AFM is acting, kicking in and out, he's going to give me me Full Time V8 membership card. It worked fine for me in stock form. I may switch to 89 octane to see what it does for me.
gaidin43 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Is your warranty still good with the tune? Or does getting it void it? This is a big concern of mine. I want to get the tune, but I do not want to lose the warranty.

If you're worried about your warranty just buy another computer from Justin and have him tune it and if you ever need to go in for warranty work just switch in your stock computer. On my 2006 GMC the computers can be swapped in about ten minutes.
gaidin43 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 That is what I would do, but the dealers can "tell" when you swap out computers now due to some sort of clock or counter being off and thus voiding your warranty for any repair saying you did the damage yourself cause of the tune you had. Anyone know anything more about this?

Anyone know anything more about this? BS. The dealer cannot tell if you changed out modules. You must be thinking of the LMMs , the dealer can see if the DPF has regenerated the correct number of times. They can see if the ECM/TCM flashes, but not a swap.
brims Posted May 26, 2009 Author Posted May 26, 2009 They would still have to prove that there was actually a tune and that it caused the issue. Just because that counter I had mentioned in another thread (that I heard about elsewhere on here) they can't automatically void everything.
