Retained Accessory Power Relay

I am trying to find the location of the RAP (Retained Accessory Power) relay. I have not been able to find it on the schematic wiring I have for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500, 5.3L. I am having trouble with battery drain that kills the battery after two to three days. I can take tghe fuse for the radio out and it seems to stop the drain. The charge stays on the battery. I know other accessories are also on the same RAP, and would like to check it out.

Any help world be appreciated.

Thanks

Look in the power distribution or electric power management section of your GM Electrical Diagrams manual.

Thanks, but therein lies the problem. I am using a Haynes for 1999 to 2006 Silverado. It doesn't go into as much detail as the GM manual. I was hoping some one could direct me to a location of said RAP relay. May have to break down and get a GM manual.

The RAP is located inside the BCM, sorry. I was also looking for this awhile back in an attempt to disable/change the RAP settings.

Here is a schematic of the BCM/RAP. I found it located in the Body Control Systems Schematics, Fig. 7, Controlled/Monitored Subsystem References on the GM eSI DVD.

Hope this helps!!!

You can order a GM Factory Service Manual set for your specific year/model vehicle from a GM dealer. The set for my 92 was around $150 for 4 books. They are...

Service Manual the size of a large phone book (how to fix mostly everything).

Fuel and Emissions Service Manual (all the engine computer and fuel injection stuff).

Electrical Diagrams Manual - 11" x 14" large book 3/4" thick with all the wiring.

Unit Repair Manual - How to tear down specific things like engine, alternator, etc.

Just about any consumer product which can be repaired has service manuals with detailed repair information, wiring diagrams, etc. available from the manufacturer of the product or the distributor. A lot of people don't know this. But there is a ton of repair and service information out there which is not on the internet. This is the best repair advice you can get because it is written by the manufacturer of the product!
