A racer who police said spent several minutes ramming the cars of his opponents with his vehicle has been charged with assault and battery with intent to kill. No one was seriously injured in the incident, which happened as soon as the green flag fell Saturday night at the Sumter Speedway in Sumter, SC. Robert L. Disher immediately rammed his car into a rival, then put his car in reverse and began intentionally ramming several other cars, according to a report filed by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. With the race stopped, Disher, 31, drove around the track, turned around toward the already damaged cars and continued hitting vehicles for several minutes before coming to a stop, deputies said. Deputies then pulled Disher from his car after another racer pinned the vehicle against the wall. Disher also was charged with public disorderly conduct after he "shook his butt at the crowd" as he was being taken away from the track, according to the police report.(ThatsRacin.com/AP)

If alcohol was still allowed at the track, they probably would have.  :thumbs:

I was at the Bristol race 4-5 years ago when in the Busch race  LaJoy took out Buckshot Jones.  Buckshot slowely circled the track until he saw Lajoy come by and floored his bent up car and aimed it right at him.  He hit him in the rear corner because his car was to beat up to control.  Needless to say the place went crazy!!!

 

The place went crazier the next night when  Mayfield (who was still in the 12 car) came together with Gordon (Jeff), and Gordon hit the inside wall on the back stretch!!!  :thumbs:

I downloaded a pretty funny song on KaZaa called the Ballad of Dale Earnhardt - Rusty Wallace. It's about when they black flagged Dale at bristol in '96 and he went on a rampage. Spinning Terry Labonte (the first time) at the finish only to come in second. I'd love to have that race on tape :exclaim:
