Stupid Parking Lot People

So the other day I had to write a certification exam at the College here in town. Parking is $10 no matter how long you are parked. However, to my surprise, since I was writing an exam, the parking was free.

Since it was a nice day, I decided to park near the back of the lot in the middle of nowhere. The lot was fairly huge, so I was rows upon rows away from people. I hate door dings, and I already have a couple on each side, plus a nice little on on the chrome part of my front bumper from idiots in the parking lots. This is the reason why I don't park near people

Upon leaving the exam and walking to my truck, I noticed a nice little car parked beside my truck.

Seriously? The whole parking lot to choose from, and you choose to park right beside me?

No damage was done, I just can't believe people. I went out of my way to not park beside anyone, and yet someone always seems to park right beside me. Sometimes without enough room to open my door.

It's just a pet peeve of mine.

Maybe they were using your truck as a landmark? Y'know, "look for the big flippin' truck, standing up above the rest of the parked cars... and I'm parked next to it"..?? :D

amen. this happens to me all the time. huge pet peeve of mine. in the 6 mo./7K mi i've owned my truck i've accumulated 3 door dings. one is so bad it scratched the paint all to hell. i've witnessed it happening to other cars and typically it's some incredibly fat person in a geo/miata/civic that just throws their door wide open with complete disregard, huffing and puffing the entire time as they de-wedge themselves from their car. i'll say it again, huge pet peeve.

Same here. I will usually park near other cars still... but in the back of the lot. Another reason for this is ease of parking, I don't feel like doing a 3 pt turn every time I want to park and/or leave a spot. I'd rather just walk the extra 15 seconds instead of wait 5 mins for someone to pull out of a "good" spot. Typically the parking lot is for a mall/grocery store where I will be walking around for an hour or so anyways, whats it matter?

Seriously, they probably parked beside you cause they knew it might bug you. Some people are like that.........

I agree 100%, but I have noticed, very rare mind you, that sometimes someone else with a new vehicle will choose to park beside me because they know I care and therefore they know their vehicle will be relatively safe as well?

My co-worker does this. At work he always parks next to me given the opportunity. He knows I am cautious enough that parking next to me is safe.

I hate when people do this too. Alot of times the people who do it to me have nice cars too and I think they probable know I will respect theirs. My co worker who has a new Infiniti always parks next to me because she knows that I won't mess hers up. When it's some dumpy pos I get po'ed.

happened to me at Frys here in Austin. I parked on the FREAKING GRASS and some hackoff decided to park next to me. idiot ended up dinging my bed so I left a note stating that my insurance company would be contacting the owner of the vehicle since I got thei license place and VIN of the offending car. Betcha that bozo wont park near my truck again...
