92 K2500 For A Horse Puller?

Hi,

I'm looking at picking up a '92 k2500 (reg cab, 2wd) for pulling a horse trailer. It's in pretty decent shape with only 98k miles. Any idea what the towing capacity is? It's got the 350 engine and 3.73 read end.

I found a copy of the '93 owners manual online but it didn't have any specifics.

Thanks!

Anthony

I've been lookin' too....to no avail.Your 2wd truck is a C2500,a K2500 would be a 4x4

Ah, thanks for the tip. I contacted the local trailer shop and they reckoned it should do the job as long as it was in good running order ;-)

I'm just going to be pulling a 2-horse unit and will likely max out under 7k lbs.

Pulling a two horse will be no sweat.

If it is a light duty 3/4 ton (6 lug nuts) I'd say it's good for up to about 4 horses.

The heavy duty 3/4 ton (8 lug nuts) I'd say it's good to about 6 horses.

I recommend a trailer brake controller, if your trailer has brakes.

***EDIT*** DONT use overdrive if you like having a transmission that works.
