1995 K2500 Abs Issues

Hi,

I have a 1995 K2500 truck, my truck has about 85,000 miles. I use the truck during the summer for vacation trips with the family otherwise the truck sits in the garage, including through the winter.

This spring when I drove it for the first time the ABS light came on the dash and I no longer hear the sound coming from under the hood when I drive it for the first several feet. I am not sure if the noise that I normally hear is a serve motor, I assume it is a self-test of the ABS system.

I want to try to fix the truck on my own with out having to take her into the dealer.

Thank you for your help!!!

You're in luck, the ABS light has come on twice on my Burb, both times I was able to jump a wire on the ACM connector and by counting the flashes I pinpointed the problem, front wheel sensors. Here's a pic, count the flashes on the ABS light. There'll two sets,e.g.- flash flash(2) pause, then 4 flashes...code 24,I think that was left front sensor...but do a Google,it'll be there

turn the key to ''on'' and count the flashes, but do not start the engine.DO NOT start the engine with this jumper in place

edit: if it does end up being a sensor do not go to a dealer for the part..they cost $150 -$175,I went to our Pick-A-Part and got one from a later model Trailblazer. It's also possible(at least on my Burb) to replace the sensor WITHOUT buying a new hub.I have pics if needed..hope this helps

92 Surb & Blazer got ABS and pickups stayed with RWAL in 95 pickups got ABS in 2x4 & 4x4.

OK,so then his truck, being a '95 K2500,should have 4 wheel ABS,right? The jumper wire should work no matter what he has..it should show a code

Hi guys, thanks for the help. Sorry for the slow reply, I posted the question and then was sent out of town for work and lost track of this. I will try pulling the code this weekend. I would love to see the picks. With the ABS light on and the lack of hearing the servo motor running it’s pre-test, the sensor is the issue?

Appreciate the help on this one.
