like the title says they do not work. the fuses are good. i really would hate to take it into a shop and spend a bunch of money to fix this problem if its a simple plug that has come undone. i have a 96 sierra 5-speed tranny. i have owned the truck for a couple years and im not sure if i remember the lights working when i bought it. anyways would anyone know what the problem may be. any help is appreciated.

5 speed manual transmission? My 98 was a manual, reverse lights were not working either. I replaced the reverse switch on the tranny that controls the reverse lights, super easy fix.

ok tried the reverse switch and still no lights. im hopeing this isnt a wiring issue. anyone else have any input? i did happen to notice oil on the push-ball and on some of the threads is this a major problem or normal?

Could it be the rare case that both bulbs are blown? I would try testing to see if the bulbs are still good.

I beleive this should be the first thing to check !

so i purchased new bulbs and tried it and they came on just to see i switched back to my old reverse switch to see if that was the problem in the beggining and it was. the new bulbs wouldnt turn on with the ol reverse switch. i didnt think the bulbs were bad since well they never have been on and are not really that old. thanks for all the info guys ill be coming back to yall for help again.
