Navigation Upgrade

upgraded to navigation in 2007 silverado new style, but navigation unit doesn't want to

 

sit all the way into the dash just curious what would I need and also the piece

 

that surrounds and holds the navigation in place looks like it can be changed out what

 

part is that called. any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm looking at picking up a nav unit out of an 08 Avalanche for my 09 LTZ but now I'm concerned

Just realized that you are trying to install a 2007 nav unit in a 2005 truck. I don't know if that's even possible and I can see where you would have problems getting it to fit! I'm thinking they are a different chassis design. Good luck with that!

They changed the nav units when they redesigned the trucks in 07, so you need to be sure to get the right one and they can be pricey. Otherwise it's pretty easy to do. Do a search on here for navigation and you'll find all kinds of tips and how to's.
