Center Console Hinge... (i Know Lots Of You Have Had This Issue)

hello, both me and my dad are at our whits end, our center consoles on our 1500 ext-cabs keep breaking, the hinges always seem to snap off, whether it be when fat father in laws hop in the truck and lean on it or they just end up breaking, I can't tell you how many times we've both glued our center consoles (he has a 99 chevy silverado 1500 ext-cab and I have a 2002 Chevy silverado ext-cab). Anyone else experience these problems and have a good solution on how to fix it or stop it from happening? I've honestly considered drilling holes into it and putting in my own metal hinges, but I'd rather not do that if I didn't have to. thanks in advance for your help!

I can't see your posted pic because of internet blocker at work. But, if your center console is like mine (jump seat where the center console swings back to make a middle seat) then it is a pain. Glue doesn't really hold it. I tried JB Weld, super glue, everything that I could think of. My solution was to buy some small hinges and screw them to the back of the console. They don't look the best, but they are only noticable to people sitting in the back seat... and hey, if I cared what they thought, they wouldn't be riding in the back seat.

Unfortunately, you have to buy the whole jump seat to fix the center console. I don't believe you can just buy the console on its own.

do you mind posting pictures of your console on how you did it? It's kinda hard for me to follow without pictures ;) I'm a very visual learner  thanks! and yes I don't care if they notice screws from the back seat and it is a center jump seat.
