What Amp Fuse?

Does anybody no what amp fuse to install for the stud#1 lead wire that feeds auxiliary power to the trailer wiring? It did not come with a fuse from the factory. I have a 2005 silverado with trailer package. Thanks in advance.

I think it's 40 amps.

FYI this is based on the size of the wire...

(And of course they don't print the wire size on automotive wire nor do they sell wire gauge sizing templates at any automotive stores! )

I thought it was 30A? Was the rating not listed on the back of the fuse panel lid? I cant remember.

They might be different on the 05 from the later models, but not sure. On the 900s it's 30 amp for the trailer controller, 40 to the 7 way.

Thanks for the help. Good info. with wire size. No the amp size is not labeled on the cover. It is a 40 amp fuse. Thanks for all your posts.
