A/c Problem

Recommended Posts

i have a 94 chevy 2500 2wd auto with the 350.

the a/c works sometimes. lol. the fan only blows on high. the power wire to the climate control is hanging out of the and twisted together lol..

well if i get it in and start driving and turn it on, it sometimes works. you have to rev the engine tho. then i tried unhooking the wires hanging out and reconnecting them, that sometimes works, but either way the a/c gets hot sooner or later.

i ordered a new climate control, but i doubt that is the problem. could it be the pressure cut-off switch, or one of the blower relays?

thanks!

I would check the high and low refrigerant pressures with a set of gauges first.

Then you can go to a wrecking yard and see how other similar vehicles are wired if your wiring has been altered. Perhaps you could cut off the proper connector from a vehicle in the wrecking yard (leave about 10 inches of wire), then crimp connect it to your wires.

Then once you get the wiring the same as factory (and refrigerant OK), use a multimeter and a GM factory wiring diagram to troubleshoot the A/C if it still is not working.
