2005 EXSB, 2500HD, 6.0, a/t, 4x4, 110000miles, Blackbear tune, 9k on plugs/wires/clean maf. Check Light went on 400 miles ago cruising down the hi-way. I towed @ about 22K+ gross for 300miles and 2 tanks of fuel and still on. How do I reset/clear the PCM again? I did start the trip with some....questionable gas from the ancient farm tank. But 2 fill ups since so I figure that wont be a issue. I have NOT replaced the O2 sensors yet either. Cant you jump 2 terminals and clear codes? Thanks

Take it to your favorite auto parts store (AutoZone, CarQuest, wherever) and have them pull the codes and clear them.

Autozone will not clear codes for you, they just read them. Just disconnect the battery and if the problem is not there any more, it won't stay on. I replaced a thermostat tht was stuck open with a new one and I could not get the light to go off. To make a long story short, the new t-stat was defective and stuck closed.

The guys at my local auto zone said they can't clear them. I didnt ask him to elaborate, so im not shure if it is some kind of legal thing, or if the scan tools they use cant do it.

Disconnect the neg side of the battery for 10-15 minutes, and you'll be good to go.
