Now that I got the engine breathing better, I also put on a Flowmaster 50 Series SUV muffler w/ dual tail pipes exiting out the rear into dual stainless tips.

If anyone is looking for Torctite band clamps, I highly recommend Auto-Jet Muffler Corp in Des Moines, Iowa. They had the best prices, $8/ea vs $13+ on eBay & Jegs.

I got the dual tail pipes from Mad Hatter Exhaust on eBay (they're just down the road in Cedar Falls, Iowa).

I used a 3" pipe (9" long) over my existing 2 3/4" pipe and secured that with a 2 3/4" band clamp. Connected the 3" pipe to the inlet of the muffler with a 3" band clamp and secured it to the frame using a universal hanger.

I used 2 3" band clamps on the outlets of the muffler.

Clearance was not a problem, Mad Hatter did a great job pre-bending the pipes.

I used a 2 1/2" hanger on the passenger & driver side.

Finished the tail pipes with some 2 1/2" band clamps.

I didn't weld anything because: 1) I don't have access to welder and didn't want to pay anyone to do it, and 2) if I decided to change the muffler I can just loosen the band clamps & slide the muffler off (it wouldn't be that easy if I welded or used those cheap u-clamps).

I'm loving the dual-oval-tips! thumbup.gif

Here's a video clip of startup, walk-around, drive around my neighborhood, some WOT clips, and finally turning back onto my street with the windows down.

Overall, I'm VERY satisfied! There is absolutely minimal interior drone. Yes you can hear it, but it's nothing to drown you out. I can easily hold a conversation with the stereo & subs turned up. I heard lots of discussion about guys getting a 70 Series Big Block instead of the 50 SUV because of cab noise. I decided to not listen to them because all complaints seemed to be with the GMT900 5.3L or 6.0L engines.

Wow that's extremely quiet still. Very nice. Do you have to recheck those clamps a couple times a year to make sure they don't loosen up or corrode from the winter?

Hey, nice choice of parts and install! I like the idea of the stainless parts and self install! Sounds good too! Oh, and now we know where you live too! J/K :uhoh:

I'll re-check them every once in awhile to to make sure they're tight, but when I tightened them down they were very snug.

Also, they're stainless steel so I won't have to worry about rust/salt/water.
