1999 Gmc Will Not Start With Full Tank

I have a 1999 GMC 1500 w/ 5.3 v8. The fuel pump was replaced 1 1/2 years ago. When I fill the gas tank, the engine will fire once and then stall. It starts fine when the fuel is below 3/4 tank. I can hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key on, and there is fuel in the rail. If I let it wait a few minutes, it will start up. any input is much appreciated.

Replace the fuel filter regularly of course, then check your fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge.

Then here is more troubleshooting advice and a general overall of the fuel system...

For detailed testing, troubleshooting, and part replacement instructions, there is nothing better than a GM factory service manual set for your year/model vehicle. This will tell you *specifically* how to test various things, then say what the test results should be (factory specs), and go from there based on test results. (No guess work.)
