If You're Having Any Doubts About Having A Tune....

DON'T. Just got tuned by Justin at Blackbear and I gotta say my truck has a LOT more going for it now, feels so much better and not so sluggish....Had a bit of fun on the WOT tests, I floored it going up a ramp and well it was a bit wetter than it looked and I broke traction immediately and was going almost sideways up the ramp...So we decided to keep the truck in 4wd for any other WOT tests haha...I even managed to do a halfway decent burnout at the end of my block but still figuring out the brake/gas ratio. It did break traction easy when I floored it from a dead stop and no brake.

So all in all, my only regret is not having done it a LOT sooner! But it was cool meeting Justin and seeing how the thing worked, making on the fly adjustments...

But....but...but....now you voided your warranty cuz they will know you got it tuned and the sky is falling and..and..and OH NOEZ!!!! :omg:

Congrats! nice to hear yet another postive BB tune story. :dunno:

Personally I dun care about that, most GM dealerships around here are going out of business so if the truck takes a crap it's onto another one.

Just installed my tuned PCM from Justin a week ago. I love it and can't wait until I can really drive the crap out of it. It's a whole lot quicker now, actually fun to drive. Enjoy yours. :dunno:

:D

I have exactly 24 hours to wait for my tuning session with Justin..... :D

Ranger-Thanks for making my Saturday go by that much slower! :D

Oh, but it will be SOOOOOOOOOOO much worth the wait. I was tuned in May and have been on cloud 9 since. GM should have the trucks run like this from the factory.

Yeah, it's a definite change...I didn't go all out like some people do and remove all limiters and make shifting ultra-hard cause I do tow and haul a lot plus I get road rage so don't really want to take the risk I'll go overboard and wreck it...But going WOT feels like unleashing a monster for sure, does not want to sit there and rev or take forever to shift, it downshifts then unleashes fury on the tires.

Maybe some of the FL members should get together one of these days and do a comparo?

The WOT tuning on my truck started to get scary. Justin and I both noticed that the front end was feeling squirrely around 90+. I also didn't go extreme because my truck is a daily driver and also tows from time to time. He adjusted my fans, shift points, speed limiter, shift firmness, tire size and who knows what else. I was also having traction problems at the lights and on take offs with the wet roads.

For anybody that is concerned about warranty, my DIC displayed "Black Bear Tuned" and "Enjoy your Tune" during the tuning session. I'm sure GM would look the other way if they saw that!! :(

This is me after my tune!

Haha, wish my truck could do that but I guess the NBS 900s are wired differently...

And I was having plenty of traction problems myself haha, got bad enough I decided to be on the safe side and put it in 4hi whenever we had to do a full throttle run...I can still break em loose on dry pavement just not as bad as it was on that semi-wet ramp.

It's only displayed when he uploads the tune.
