07 Nbs Chevy Drive Train Clunk

I have a noise, a "clunk" when ever I stop and go to take off. I have about 40,000 miles on it and the noise is getting worse. Is there a fix or anything I can do?

Might be u-joints...Dealer might fix it as it falls under drivetrain I would think...

If the clunk happens when you let off he brake, then I would suspect the infamous "axle-wrap slip yoke" issue. I would check the u-joints and if they are OK then grease the slip yoke.

Its not infamous... it's famous..

 

Drop the drive shaft, pack the slip yoke splines with grease, then re-install. It should install much tighter and I'll be the bump/clunk goes away. If not then it's your u-joints most likely. While its down, just inspect them to make sure. Either way re-pack it.
